We are a small congregation in Northern New York, affiliated with American Baptist Churches,USA. We are a conservative, evangelical, and ecumenical congregation involved in evangelism and world missions.

We were established in 1833 as a group of people who wish to win people to Christ, to help Christians grow, and to help people who hurt.

Wednesday evening Prayer & Bible study has been changed!!! We now meet at the church on Thursday mornings from 11:00 to 12:00 noon!  Please come and join us - we meet year round unless the Carthage School District is closed due to snow!  We are presently studying the book of John after our time of prayer for missionaries and the needs of the church. Remember, "Prayer from the pew gives power to the pulpit."  

The women of First Baptist welcomes all ladies to join us for meetings several times throughout the year.  We have programs and conduct business, pray for and support several missionaries, and work on providing food for several events. We hold rummage sales/bake sales 2 times a year - once in the Spring and once in the Fall.  Watch the newspaper for dates and how to donate items.

We would like to welcome you to our church.  We hope you feel at home and very comfortable in our midst.

We sent our cards out to Germany for the kidslink/downrange project. They posted some photos and it appeared that our card kits were received and given to the children!

 For the new year - 2010-2011, we are going to have a MOMSNext Group! This includes the MOPS - (Mothers of Preschoolers) as well as the MOMSNext women who are mothers of school age children! We will still be meeting at the church (511 State Street, Carthage) on the second and fourth Tuesdays of the month unless otherwise notified. As always, please check on Channel 10 in case of inclement weather. We follow the Carthage School District policy for snow days.
